Biography

Dr. Ronald Gomez is a board-certified podiatric physician and surgeon serving the Niskayuna and Troy areas, providing comprehensive foot and ankle care for patients of all ages—from newborns to older adults—including pediatric podiatric pathologies. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency training at HHC–Coney Island Hospital. Dr. Gomez also holds a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Binghamton University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and a member of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Gomez believes strong patient relationships are essential to successful care. He takes time to get to know each patient and works collaboratively to develop personalized treatment plans, offering multiple options to help improve health and quality of life. Known for his personable approach and clear communication, he emphasizes the importance of a positive mindset and views care as a partnership between provider and patient. One of Dr. Gomez’s greatest professional passions is diabetic limb salvage, helping patients avoid amputation through advanced medical and surgical treatment. He also enjoys treating sports-related foot and ankle injuries, particularly as more people of all ages remain active and engaged in fitness.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Gomez is committed to making high-quality foot and ankle care accessible to a diverse patient population. He is also active in the community, participating in diabetic education seminars for seniors and contributing to radio programs and podcasts focused on health and wellness.

Dr. Gomez was drawn to podiatry because of its unique ability to combine both medical and surgical care while treating patients across all stages of life. He values the ever-evolving nature of medicine and embraces lifelong learning, continually staying up to date on the latest medical and surgical advancements.

Born in Lima, Peru, Dr. Gomez moved to New York at the age of three. Outside of the office, he enjoys staying active by going to the gym, following basketball, and cheering on the New York Knicks.
